AniBinge ("the app") is an unofficial, third-party client for AniList that helps you track the anime you watch. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have. AniBinge is developed by Sunehar Sandhu, who is responsible for the data described here (the "controller" under EU and UK data protection law). Questions: anibinge.official@gmail.com.
Summary: AniBinge does not run its own servers that store your data, does not sell your data, shows no ads, and performs no cross-app tracking. Your anime list lives on your AniList account and in a local cache on your device. The only data that leaves your device for a service other than AniList is anonymous crash diagnostics.
To use AniBinge you connect your AniList account through AniList's own secure sign-in page (OAuth). After you sign in, AniBinge receives an access token, which is stored only in the iOS Keychain on your device. The token is used solely to read and update your anime list (status, episode progress, scores) on AniList on your behalf. We never see your AniList password, and the token is never sent to any server we operate. Requests the app makes to AniList, including loading cover images, are handled by AniList under its own terms and privacy policy.
Your AniList list (titles, watch status, episode progress, scores) is cached locally on your device, including in a shared app group container so that home-screen widgets and Live Activities can display it. This cached copy exists only on your device; the authoritative copy lives on AniList. AniBinge does not transmit your list to any third party. Notifications and Live Activities are created on your device; no push server is involved.
AniBinge Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your payment details, name, or Apple ID. The app checks whether you own Pro directly on your device using Apple's StoreKit.
AniBinge uses Firebase Crashlytics (a service provided by Google) to collect crash reports and diagnostic information so we can find and fix bugs. These reports may include your device model, operating-system version, app version, a random installation identifier created by Crashlytics (it resets if you reinstall the app), and the technical details of a crash or error. Like any internet request, the upload reveals your device's IP address to Google. Crash reports do not include your AniList credentials, your access token, or the contents of your anime list. No advertising identifiers are collected and no App Tracking Transparency (ATT) tracking is performed. Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days and then deletes them automatically. See Firebase's privacy information for how Google processes this data.
To show episode titles and filler/recap information, AniBinge fetches public episode metadata from a third-party anime database service. These requests contain only anime identifiers; no account or personal information is sent, although, as with any internet request, the service can see your device's IP address.
We process data to provide the service you ask for, namely syncing and displaying your AniList list (performance of a contract), and to keep the app stable through crash diagnostics (our legitimate interest in fixing bugs, balanced against the minimal, pseudonymous data involved). You can object to crash diagnostics at any time by contacting us.
Google may process crash diagnostics in the United States and other countries. Google relies on recognised safeguards for these transfers, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
To remove your data from the app, tap Log Out in Settings. This deletes the locally cached list and removes the stored AniList token from your device. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Crash reports are deleted automatically after 90 days. To delete or change the underlying list or your account itself, manage it directly on AniList at anilist.co/settings.
Depending on where you live (including the EEA, the UK, and several U.S. states), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to how it is processed, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold almost no data about you, most requests are satisfied by logging out or managing your account on AniList, but you can email anibinge.official@gmail.com for anything else and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
AniBinge is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country. Mature content is hidden by default and can only be shown by changing a setting.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
AniBinge is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by AniList or MyAnimeList.
